Last month, I hosted my first hand lettering workshop with my friend (and photographer) Shawna Faith, and it was so much fun! I enjoyed meeting new faces and trying out Crayola’s Brush and Detail Dual Ended Markers. (Aff link)
We hosted the event at George Coffee + Provision, and enjoyed munching on light bites and sipping on our coffee throughout the evening. If you’re ever in Coppell, it’s one of our fave little coffee shops in DFW. It’s in a Old Town Coppell, and it’s across from the Farmer’s Market and the cutest little playground and splash pad. There are a few nearby restaurants and a couple of cute boutiques as well.
Shawna guided us through the basics of hand lettering and shared some simple tips and tricks to achieve our desired look with our Crayola markers. She provided similar templates (Aff link) that we were able to trace and get inspired as we practiced our fonts.
Each marker came with a brush tip and a small thin tip, which allowed for a variety of flourishes and fonts. The colors are so vivid and perfect for embellishing any note or quote you would like to write.
Again, it was such a fun night, and I can’t wait to do it again soon! We love Crayola at our house, and it was definitely fun to try something new and create with other women.
