Friday Faves: Pax & Beneficia

There are quite a number of great coffee shops throughout Dallas/Ft. Worth, but one of my favorites is Pax & Beneficia Coffee in Las Colinas. It’s nestled in the Gables Water Street community with other local restaurants (Cork & Pig Tavern, Ginger Man Pub, and Olivella’s to name a few), and a short distance from Toyota Music Factory.

Don’t let their humble Scrabble tile menu deceive you when you first walk inside. They offer additional Turkish inspired coffees, including my personal favorite- Sunshine in a Cup. It’s infused with flavors of vanilla and lavender, and it’s become my usual when we visit. I love their use of cardamom and other spices that aren’t typically found in most coffee shops. They take me back to my childhood. I also love Merit Coffee (San Antonio based with two locations in Dallas), which is where they source their coffee beans.

Lo and Floppy Bunny miss the peppermint hot cocoa (It’s seasonal.), but the regular hot cocoa pairs just as nicely with their cruffins. There’s also an open lawn with cornhole games and lots room to run and play, and Lo loves burning off some of her energy there afterwards. It makes a great spot to meet friends for playdates- just bring a ball or other lawn game to help the littles wear themselves out!

Whether you’re looking for a good cup of coffee, nice ambience, or free wifi to work/study, Pax & Beneficia is a great place. Did I mention they also have a conference room you can reserve for meetings, study sessions or other groups?

Next time you’re near Las Colinas, drop by and let me know what you think. You can follow them on Facebook and/or Instagram as well to find out about upcoming special events.
