Summer Button-Up Tank

M7603 front alternateWhile organizing my closet a few months ago, I realized I need more summer basics in my wardrobe. Since then, I have been on the hunt for a woven sleeveless top pattern that I can wear to the park with my daughter or out with the hubby on date night. M7603 buttons
I picked up M7603 a couple of months ago, but once the summer temps reached 100° F last week, I decided it was time to sew one up. I chose a white silk blend from my stash and made View B without the pockets in a size 6. I purchased these brass buttons from Joann awhile ago, and they are perfect for this top.
M7603 SideThere aren’t any darts and the placket is folded in, so it’s a rather quick sew. I made my own single fold bias tape for the neck, arms, and hemline instead of using the double fold bias tape pattern pieces included in the pattern. I did not make my usual 2″ shortening adjustment, and it is the exact length I wanted, so keep that in mind tall-er friends. M7603 BackThe back has a center box pleat and scoop neckline. I also love the shirt tail hemline and the overall relaxed fit of this top. M7603 frontSo, are you in need of summer basics, too? Any other great summer patterns I need to try?M7603 Purse
